How am I doing with Hilda? Poorly? Well? Is she too headcanon-y? Is her personality flat, or too bland? Is there something you'd like to see in her? Let me know here! Anon is on, IP-logging is off!

Current Characters: Sakuya Le Bel Shirogane

Character Information
Name: Hilda
Canon: Pokémon Black & White. Specifically, Black version (Hilda encountered Reshiram).
Canon Point: Post-plot, before her second challenge of the Elite Four and after her defeat of the Battle Subway
Age: 17
Gender: Female
History: Character. Game.
Personality: Hilda is a silent PC and therefore somewhat of a canon OC, but her personality can be reflected from her actions and what NPCs say about and to her.

Hilda has an up-and-at-'em outlook, eager to start things and run off from the get-go. She has a smile for everyone she meets, and isn't afraid to jump right into conversations. She doesn't think twice about encouraging (and invading the personal space of) meeker individuals and she is willing to lend a helping hand wherever it's needed.

Hilda's best and most obvious trait is arguably her self-confidence, which she has in spades. Her outlook on herself is very positive and she believes that she can accomplish most anything with enough determination and an open mind. This open mind has also allowed her to interact with get along with many different kinds of people. She's very tolerant of other people's personalities and views-- even if she doesn't agree on something, she'll hear the person out.

With her confidence comes her aptitude to support others. Hilda balances out her childhood friends' personalities and differences, and leads her team of Pokémon through difficulties and tough situations. Putting others before herself is second nature to Hilda: when Team Plasma threatened to overturn the entire Unova region, Hilda stepped up to the plate despite her own misgivings and fears. Her altruistic nature wouldn't let her prioritize her feelings over her country. It won't let her put her own time in front of other people's needs, either-- if someone asks for help, they'll get it, no questions asked. In the same vein, Hilda is a pretty good listener; her shoulders are broad and can handle the weight of others' problems.

She is also a very active individual! She spends most of her time outside, whether she's exploring, trekking, or just running around. Curiosity drives her into trailblazing, so she more often than not winds up wandering into the wilderness or-- heaven forbid-- into the homes of other people, if their doors are open. People in Unova tend to be very inviting, so she really had no problem popping in just about everywhere to say hello, if only to be gone just as quickly-- as if she's ubiquitous. Hilda's not too restless, and can stay in one place if it comes to it, but she does have a habit of being everywhere at once.

Of course, Hilda is still a teenager, no matter how sensible she usually is. She has moments of temper, sometimes called for and sometimes not; she is susceptible to moodswings and moments of irrationality; she can fuss about her appearance or other less important things; she can get carried away by her emotions instead of following her judgment; and she's inexperienced with some dangers, underestimating them. Hilda doesn't think herself invincible, but she overestimates her ability to handle herself. She has been successful in protecting herself so far, but her confidence could do her in one day, especially at Gora where she's without her normal Pokémon team. Also, for all her confidence, she can be hard-hit with the right words, and because she is so used to supporting others she is hesitant to show her pain, which could ultimately cause her to deteriorate from the inside out. Like her confidence, her desire to stay strong for those depending on her is a double-edged sword.

Despite this, Hilda has a pretty quick recovery time and resilient willpower. She doesn't stay down for long-- refuses to, even. Her mother raised her better than that. Wallowing in her hurt and anger isn't a constructive method for Hilda, so if she has a grievance with someone she won't hesitate to make it known and try to make amends. This has helped her avoid unnecessary misunderstandings and maintain honest relationships. She also harbors a strong sense of justice, and stands up for herself or others is she feels they've been wronged.

Overall, Hilda projects a reliable, positive presence. Her head's screwed on right, her heart is in the right place, and she always puts her best foot forward.

Abilities Information
Fighter or Sacrifice?: Sacrifice. Hilda is used to commanding her team of Pokémon through trials and tribulations, keeping a cool head and a quick wit.
Canon abilities: Beyond every Pokémon protagonist's ability to befriend and train any Pokémon surprisingly well, Hilda does not have any special abilities. She is very much an ordinary human.
Name: Idealless.

Samples
First Person:

Heya, guys! [Hilda sounds chipper, as usual.] I hope you all are holding up all right. I've been doing pretty well, myself! Though, there's one thing...

[Her previously-perky expression now looks sheepish.] When I was back home, I always carried first-aid stuff around with me. Of course, when I came here, my thing didn't come with me, so... Do you think I could restock at the medical wing? Or would that just make 'em mad? The attendants there were pretty terse when I went for my skinned knees, so I wouldn't want to bother them unnecessarily.

Thanks in advance!

Third Person:

Hilda couldn't run away from Gora, strictly speaking, but she could at least run. Sprinting around the border of the school, as fast as she could- it was an escape in at least one way. Her mind was racing as fast as her legs.

She could barely believe that everything she'd been told was true-- it was all so crazy. But the absence of her Pokémon-- moreso than the presence of cat ears and tails -- was enough evidence that it really was true. She hadn't spent a moment away from her Pokémon ever since she had received her first one all that time ago. It would take a dimensional rift to separate her from her team-- and look at what happened.

The floor had been pulled out beneath her. Hilda felt unbalanced even as her feet thrummed against the frozen earth, but she didn't let herself fall. That would be like giving up. She hadn't given up on a lot of things yet, and-- ...okay, so maybe she was in another world with cat ears and tails and no Pokémon and no one she knew. But taking it lying down wasn't about to get her anywhere, and she could at least reverse the last bit of that. Getting to know people was the easiest thing on that list, so she may as well get a head start on it. Figuring out how to go back could come a little later. (She didn't want to think that it was impossible.)

She slowed her pace, breath coming out in visible puffs, and looked around at her surroundings with more interest. Perhaps she'd covered most of Unova's frontier, but she knew nothing of this place.

"An adventure, then..." she murmured to herself, and allowed a grin to cross her face for the first time since she had arrived.

Anything Else?: Nope!
